Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute firm-wide Risk Management & Independence strategies aligned with the RSM Global Independence Framework.
- Lead and oversee the client acceptance and continuance process, ensuring full compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Act and relevant regulatory obligations.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive risk and independence policies, procedures, and tools, promoting efficient, compliant client service delivery.
- Act as the primary advisor and point of consultation for internal teams on independence and ethical compliance matters.
- Deliver structured training and professional development programs on risk management, ethics, and independence to staff across all service lines.
- Collaborate closely with regional and global counterparts within the RSM network to stay aligned with evolving international standards.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and provide periodic reporting to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ICAEW, ACCA, or equivalent an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in risk management, independence/compliance services, internal audit, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a professional services environment (e.g., Big Four or mid-tier firm) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IESBA Code of Ethics, Malaysian AML requirements, and other professional regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience managing cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience conducting training sessions.
- High level of professional integrity, discretion, and judgment.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
